Lever Monday...post em up

You guys all have cool stuff. Mine are kinda boring

Marlin .338 MX JM
Marlin .338 MXLR JM
Dads ol 30-30. Which I wish I knew p_ham. would have had him restore it. It was very rusty and pitted. Local gunsmith made it as good as he could to make it shoot.

I just picked this up at an estate sale, for a great price, 1894s in 44. Did paperwork today and just got it home so still looking it over..Based off the serial number it was made in '94. Doesn't look like it's been shot much at all.. Has some light rust on the lever that will come off and one nick on the stock...Gonna load up some rounds and try to kill a WT with it this season. Don't know much about lever guns so if anybody had any suggestions feel free to PM me.

Looks great! I am sorely tempted to get one of those Skinner peeps for my 7600...
Another way to go is with the barrel sighted at about 80-100 yds and then a Marbles (or Lyman if you must), tang sight sighted for 160-200 yds. There are other tang sights that will work, but not all of them are created equal and some are not safe to use this way. But where it works, you get 2 zeros to choose between with the flick of your thumb.

It's been a bit, so! One good '95 deserves another. Here is a picture of, not mine, but Col. Townesd Whelen's customized Winchester 1895 in .40-72. One of the guns on my "grail gun" list.

As a kid I always though the most beautiful rifle around was a Savage mod 99, even had a plastic model of one on my bedroom wall. never owned one though. First rifle I ever bought myself was a mod 94 Win in 30-30 that the guy I got it from told me he'd had a 30-06 barrel put on. So had a longer barrel but in the end didn't do much for me. I think the only lever I would consider at this point in my life is a mod 88 Win, pretty good looking rifle! But also at this point in my life I shoot bolt action rifles except for my 22 RF, mod 62a Win.
