I just bought a leupold VX5HD with the illumination dot for my new rifle. Is this scope legal to use in a Idaho or is it not because it has a red dot in the middle?

Under weapon restrictions page 100 in The season & rules book.

so long as it does not project light or laser toward the target it is legal. range finding scopes are not. Reflex type red or green dots are OK.

Under the regs you cannot tape a range finder to your bow or rifle.
