Leupold BX-4 Rangefinding Binoculars

Lets see all your pets. Pet pics lighten the mood!

Puff the magic kitty. I saw this feral kitten get hit by two cars and picked her up and stuck her by the side of the road to die. Went to the post office and then came back and she was still alive, though unconscious and bleeding from her mouth and rear end. I didn't want the ants to eat her alive, so I took her to my office to die in peace. The next morning she came back to life, but she was blind and deaf. Kept her at my office as an indoor companion. About a month later I found her on top of a conference table and realized her sight had returned. She also partially got her hearing back in one ear, but her brain doesn't quite process things correctly . If you call her while standing on her right side, she looks to her left. We've had her at home ever since (9 years). She has brain damage and has seizures every couple of days, despite being given medicine twice a day, but she's almost a real kitty. She's mean as hell and wild as a bobcat, but we have decided to find that charming. We can't hold her, except for a few minutes just after a seizure, but we love her unconditionally. 20210204_093343~2.jpg

There is no measure of the love our 4 footed friends give us.
Unrequited, unending, unquestioned love.

Tom Hall says it very well in his song, "Old dogs and children and watermelon wine"

"Old dogs care about you,
Even when you make mistakes....."
I love that song.
Here’s the little one watching Game of Thrones with me.

My dog really loves me but my cats are hoes. Jasmine has been my girl since she was a kitten.

Then we moved in a family member with Alzheimer’s last spring and Jaz abandoned me for her.

Snowball was always my wife’s little baby, but as soon as I became available, she forgot about my wife like yesterday’s news.

We were both heartbroken, betrayed. At least I still have a cat who likes me, despite being a little traitor.

Last week we moved our family member into long-term memory care and Jaz is crying. Well, guess what? I don’t feel sorry for you, turncoat.

It’s only a matter of time before she kicks Snowball out of the way and reclaims her next favorite person. Then Snowball will cozy back up with my wife like nothing ever happened.

Shameless creatures…

This is my hiking partner Josie Wales with her outlaw bandana. She was 7 when this picture was taken on an a late August scouting trip. She had a fit of barn sourness that day. I almost had to drag her on the way in, and when she realized we were headed back to the car she literally left me in her dust.

I lost Josie Christmas of 2021 and spent a year being sad over it. Finally got the resolve to look for another heeler last winter.

This is my 10 month old velociraptor Cleo. She's my 3rd heeler and I love her to death but she's absolutely the most challenging puppy I've had of the breed.

She learns so much every day though. Hasn't gotten nought miles in the woods, but she's learning ranch stuff at my parents.
