Wolfshead now you're just plain showing off.
That's some nice work.
Just about tore a 20ft shipping container apart the other day looking for a missing lacing pony. I finally found it. Lost a copper rivet setting tool. Had to order a new one.
Now I need to order some Latigo leather. All my scrap leather is beyond using.
Made 2 axe sheaths for the other half the other day.
Good job everyone.

I have some spur straps I intended to stamp and assemble. My local saddlemaker stamp cut out the shape and beveled the edges. I have a set of Jeremiah Watt Buckles I hope i haven't misplaced before I get to work on them.

If someone wanted to get their feet wet in this world, what starter tools are needed and should I get a “kit” or buy individual tools? I’m thinking starting with sheaths and maybe a belt or two.

It really depends on what you want to do.
Sheaths are what I started with, and to be honest you can get by with a box cutter with sharp blades, a punch along with a needle, and thread.
If you could explain what you want to have as a finished product or maybe even pictures, I’m sure I could help you out a little with some recommendations, and places to pick up the items that work for me.
If you’re really serious about getting started, and have a desire to keep at it there are some good things to buy once cry once, but are not required or necessary to get by.
Let us know or drop me a message.
I’ll help you out best I can.

I've made a few things: a couple belts, a couple of little purses for my kids, etc. I have ambitions to do more but I definitely have too many hobbies to draw my focus away.

My most ambitious project was a shotgun bag for sporting clays.

It is pretty cool, although I wish I had done some things differently. I'm particularly proud of the rivets I made from shotgun shells.
