Indeed. In some areas, they can be stunningly old. But have you ever wondered why their grain corkscrews like that and if maybe all the trees out there corkscrew the same direction?

Indeed. In some areas, they can be stunningly old. But have you ever wondered why their grain corkscrews like that and if maybe all the trees out there corkscrew the same direction?

It is interesting some trees have a twist in them & some are straight as an arrow even on steep ground. I will have to pay more attention on the direction of the twist. I do know those twisted trees don't make very good firewood.
