Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

Kodiak - Raspberry Island - Getting to know the place

What you want a little slap and tickle? Wisconsin is a little far for me to drive... I just got off the phone with a local who drew it last year. I looked him up, hit him up. He called me back and didn't keep any secrets. He didn't ask me to earn it. He was just thrilled to see someone out of state getting after it. He said if I needed anything he was just a call away. What makes you think you are so special? Have fun with your wannabe keyboard warrior mentality. A very quick reminder why forums are useless. Bye losers.

If you're wondering, Luke is from Texas and has been applying for Raspberry and Afognak elk along with some other hunts for a few years, drew a POW bear tag for spring 2023. He has no idea about the difference between lower 48 and Alaska elk. This hunt will eat him alive, I'm afraid 😬

Well now I know you are full of crap. Alaska posts the name of everyone that drew a tag and where they are from. Due to their not being many tags, it's not a surprise that not a single local drew the tag last year for this hunt.

Was hoping those of you who hunted 702 would be willing to chat with me. I drew it this year and was just looking to hear about your experience.

I would be happy to chat with you about our experience up there and what we learned to do and not to do. We made some great local contacts as well that where a big help. Pm me when you get enough points to do so. Seeth got a nice bull up there and is a way more experienced elk hunter than we are but we did learn a lot and are hoping to draw again sometime.

I appreciate that. I’m mostly just looking to hear hunting stories and see what folks have shot on this tag. I’ve got my hunt plan all squared away and feel good about things. Only info I can’t ascertain is what type of trophy quality to expect. I have a good idea for herd size and location, just not sure how big an elk I should hold out for.

Search a bit harder and you'll find what you are looking for on different threads on this forum
I think I’ve already got my plan squared away but I’d love to hear how your hunt went/see what you shot.

The entire hunt recap is on this forum. It was not easy to find a bull that wasn't all busted up, shot a small one that wasn't broken. They dont get massive antlers, just big bodies.
