Jigging for warmouth

Did some jigging for warmouth this pass week. Ended up with a few for the dinner table

The little fish are always more fun for me. Imagine if one got to say 16" what kind of fight you'd have. Love crappies too!

I'm headed back Friday morning..hopefully the weather holds out long enough to catch a mess of them

The water level at my normal spot was getting close to ideal, then two weeks ago we got hit with a ton of rain. I might give it a go this weekend anyway.

How deep do you usually catch them in?.

How deep do you usually catch them in?.

I usually catch them in about 3-6 feet of water around cypress and ogeechee tupelo or in old hollowed out cypress stumps. When the water is high, the fish are spread out throughout the swamp. When the level comes down, the fishin gets right! The same held true back home in my younger days fishing the Atchafalaya Basin in La.
