My first hunt of 2024.

I drew a Texas muzzle loader hunt on a National Wildlife refuge. I have no idea what my odds were, but I had 5 points, I think. I'm leaving shortly to begin the 13.5hr drive. I'll get somewhere on the other side of ATL tonight before stopping to sleep. My hunt starts on Monday so I'll have a 1.5 days to scout before the season opens. I'm planning on hunting for 5-6 days. I can shoot 2 bucks but only one is allowed to be over 13" so I'm only going to shoot a good one if given the chance and I can shoot couple does, but I'm not planning on shooting any. I can also kill unlimited pigs. My goal is to get a decent buck and a hog. I killed a big pig a week ago here in SC. It would be cool to get another one. I'm planning on hunting all day bc what else am I going to do? The weather is supposed to be getting cold, hopefully that's a good thing. I have my climber, popup blind, and a saddle. I've never been to this property before or hunted whitetail in TX so I don't know what to expect, but I'm going to give it my all.

Hopefully it's a good hunt!

Sounds like a fun hunt.
Good luck!
How about a pic of the SC hog?...or did I miss it elsewhere?
