I had to get this guy out by myself.... the mud below was about 2 feet deep. Guess he got the last laugh. My first Archery Bull:)

I love it! That last picture is priceless and when you think of it, you will never ever forget that experience and you cant put a price tag on that.
 
As luck would have it, a storm was coming in and right after those pics it started hailing on me. It was the first week in Sept. so the temp drop was welcomed. It took me over 2 hours to walk back to my truck and ended up losing 3 arrows shooting at grouse:(
 
First photo caption: The ecstasy and the AGONY!! In another thread someone mentioned a come-along in their hunting pack. That's about the only way I can imagine doing his carcass justice.
 
That does look like a hell of a lot of work, but that's better than a mudhole with no elk.
