Idaho's Bighorn Rams

If only we just had a few more running around. I think I saw that really big, live hells canyon ram, along with a few of his buddies, last winter

is that a horn mass growing out of the ram's head at the 2:51 mark?

Good to hear the Borah herd is doing well.

Why do I have a feeling my drawing odds just went down. Nice to see some familiar faces places and names.

Sweet Bryan.

So how come the sheep are doing so well in 37, but declining in neighboring units?

Pneumonia. The wild sheep in 37 had a die off 12 years or so ago from Pneumonia from domestic sheep. To correct this, domestic sheep grazing allotments were purchased and a separation between wild and woolies was established. Additional wild sheep were transplanted and the flock went from under 100 to over 400 today.

This can be replicated with every flock in the state and country.

You should qualify the word "can." Under current public land management and current sentiments of the DS industry, that's not a possibility in a lot of places. But wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy?

Nice Video and Congrats on your Ram!

Now I know what units to apply for when they let me back in the OIL species draw ;)
