Idaho Fish and Game staff sincerely apologizes for the delays that caused frustration with the license and tag sales system on December 1, the first day of nonresident deer and elk tag sales for next year's season.

One of my buddies waited for 9 hours in queue to get a tag. Luckily he got the tag he wanted. Recently coming from Texas, this system seems simply insane. Texans get 5 whitetail tags WITH the license. I'm just glad that I will be a resident by the time resident tags become available.

Hard to worry about customer service when your product sells out consistently.

Some had to wait 12 hours to get a tag. Wow. In 1986 the process was:

Call IDFG and request a packet.
Wait for the packet to arrive via snail mail.
Fill in the packet with your choices and write a check. Fill, seal, and stamp the envelope.
Mail it to IDFG Boise
Wait
Wait
Wait
Get yous license and tags in the mail if in fact you filled everything in properly.
