Idaho General tag Muleys lets see em!!!!!!

dzl- This year I'll be in a draw area.

MW- Though Boise wouldn't be the first place in ID I would pick, it's a concession I'd gladly make if my wife would agree to it. It is a nice city and one I think I could like alot. I've spent enough time there and in ID in general to know I could love it about anywhere there. Looking forward to leaving a few more boot tracks in that state this fall.

Getting down to crunch time for planing the hunt area. Any of you generous Idaho gents have much info on the Ketchum, Triumph, Hailey area? Unit 49

I struck out in 2014, but my buddy shot a hammer. I haven't been back to Idaho since. I will be coming back in a month with a general tag. Have shot some Maryland Whitetails, and a nice Montana Muley in 2016

No you can not, unless you want to buy a second OTC mule deer tag at NR prices. You must adhere to the rules, unit boundaries and season dates that are encompassed in the tag you drew.

PS, you would have a lot more fun hunting the rut with your rifle in that late season anyway. If you want to do both just pick up a NR otc tag that you could hunt the whole state with during archery (sept) and the general rifle buck season (oct).
twsnow18 I heard that a NR could get an OTC general tag and hunt the rifle and Archery with the same tag. I mentioned this to a resident he just laughed. I have not been able to find anything in the regulations. Can you point me in the right direction to find out more about this?

Pics or it didn't happen 😉 :ROFLMAO:
I love pictures, nice you can directly upload them now without photobucket

You can hunt 8/30-9/30 with a bow for deer throughout much of the state. Then 10/10 - 10/24 or 10/31 with a rifle in 70% of the state. Then there are a couple units that allow a late archery hunt for either sex in Nov/Dec. That’s all on the same “regular deer tag.”

Thank you. I had heard this, but I could not remember where I heard it or who from. I live just south of the Idaho border and have thought about trying my hand at the idaho mulies. It looks like beautiful country. Knowing that I could hunt archery and rifle makes it even more enticing.

For sure. Gotta plan a little bit ahead though, the total NR deer and elk tags sold out this year by Sept 1st.
People typically use ID as a backup plan. Until the last couple years when they finally started realizing its value
and that the hunt quality rivals hunts that require 2-4 points to draw in neighboring states.
