I was not the first to hunt this mountain

Seeing this made me want to share my artifacts given to me by my grandmother who's been long gone for almost 2 decades, they farmed in the kalamth falls area of Oregon back in day 30's but not positive , but when the fields got plowed they would walk the turned earth and collect arrowheads and stuff, she gave me an old cigar box of the stuff the found over the years , plus the grinding stone and the canoe weight or weight for a fish net , I took 2 photos to try to show the rope ring that runs all the way around it , my mom some years back put them all in a shadow box for me which now hangs in my man cave, i found a few of them as well but cant remember which ones as it was forever and a day ago

My grandmother also gave me this book she had to go with the things they found, just picked it up for the first time in years , she gave it to me in 79 ! Ha and I just noticed it was autographed by the author, never noticed that before, looks like my grandad gave it to my grandmother the year i was born, i dont know anything about Indian artifacts and or what you can or cant do , its been over 20 years since i found one

I can't answer the question about the dates, but it is perfectly legal on private property. It is illegal on federal land. It might be the Antiquities Act but I'm not sure. Each state probably has it's own law about state land, but I'm not sure about that either. All I know is you can get in a heap of trouble collecting from federal land.

Some finds from this fall - James Riley could you ask your pal to do a sketch of the big black one?

In days of old
When nights were cold
And dildos weren't invented
You sat on a stone
That was shaped like a bone
And went away contented.

You sure? I'm thinking black bean nachos...one too many lines to be a limerick yet still Hallmark worthy.

Pretty witty for so early in the morning

Great story. My dad and I have collected for years. We have several hundred artifacts that we have found in plowed fields and eroded creek banks. It is another hobby, one that I don't have a lot of time for anymore unfortunately. I found an Adena stemmed point eroded from the hillside about 20 feet from a treestand once. The cool thing was, I arrowed a nice buck that evening standing in almost the same spot I found the point. A few of our artifacts, wish I had some closeups;

I found this in Wyoming years ago. Wishing now I would have dug around a bit more.
