Did 8.81 miles in the Roosevelt Kingdom , saw one bull a mile away ,
View attachment 151039had another elk cruise right under me from 60yds , Never saw what it was only saw part of the body. Found a couple new elk trails it appears that the elk didn’t come through here that often because the trails were really hard to see

found a my 1st rub of the season , it appears the herd bull left his calling card, he destroyed that alder tree

a good day in the field , never found a herd , but I’ll be back up there soon , with Roosevelt archery Season only 9 days out
That is great! It seems like you are putting in your scouting. Hope it pays off with a nice bull.
ya me too ! or a small bull , Definitely looking forward to the opportunity and some good elk encounters this fall , and continued growth in archery. I don’t seem to have a problem finding elk to hunt it just seems none have wanted to volunteer for a ride home in my Tacoma .. ha ha
I did the same Tuesday. That ones nice. Even better if it was free like mine.
Stocked up on quality Montana beer for a Wyoming elk hunt in early September.

My kind of wedding drinks... I’m partial to Red Lodge Ales too. Glacier Amber, Helio Hefeweizen, and Bent Nail IPA are all outstanding.we had a keg of each at my wedding.
My other favorite was Prickly pear from L&C. MT hadn’t figured out sours in ‘14 but some good brews nevertheless.
