Hunting Arrows for Traditional bow

Are carbons even safe in a self bow? I thought they were too light and would result in damage eventually, similar to dry firing.
There are ones designed for traditional bows. Heavier GPI than standard carbon shafts.

The Gold Tip Traditional 400s I have are like 9.4 gpi, vs 8.1 or something for standard Hunters.

This is a great resource for traditional archery. Call them and tell them what you have and ask for suggestions on arrows. They will steer you in the right direction.

Also try to stay at 9 or 10 grains per pound for arrow weight. Don't go lighter or you can damage the bow.

+1 on all of this, I just wanted to add - don't be afraid to go over 10 grains per pound with traditional, especially a wood bow. More efficient, less hand shock and quieter. I usually shoot 12-13 gpp
