Hunt Right Video

Pretty sure most of the footage was Jason Matzinger's. I think I saw a couple of Montana-Wilds clips in there too or at least some that was very similar to some of their video.

It took some real cost in time, equipment and editing to produce even a short segment like that. I know I didn't pay a dime for it and it has a great message. If Sitka wants to sponsor segments like these for public consumption, I'll be happy to see a bit of product placement in the video.
 
I know 6 of the CAC members personally and know they are passionate, ethical men who were upset at what happened last hunting season and the bad light it cast hunters in, especially to those that dont know the difference between poachers, slob hunters or ethical hunters. While you may not like the video or the campaign, they at least are trying to make a difference, they have gotten into the arena, learn by trying, as Theodore Roosevelt would say -

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

You're right it's some of Jason's stuff and Montana Wild. Jason is for sure sponsored by Sitka but I don't get why everyone is so pissy about it? That's how he shoots his film, with one of his sponsors product placement. I thought it was a well put together video with a good message.

Why so pissy? Because what is supposed to be a psa feels a lot like an advertisement. Although not straight from FWP, it sure feels like an official message from them. You guys can dismiss my opinion but I guarantee I'm not the only one who is going to watch that and come away with the same feeling. Slow swoop on Sitka logo 1:05.

You aren't going to win over the unwashed masses with a spiffy video with some good product placement and high production values. IMO the people this video targets will find it laughable at best and insulting at worst. Hmmm... and so increases the disconnect between your average hunters and managers.

Public speaking 101, know your audience. This video is great for all those here, but do you think the hunters on this website represent the majority? It's wonderful to say great job, nice video. But you're already convinced.

These guys put a lot of work into all this.

and ethical hunters will agree with you 24/365, but the issues in MT(and everywhere else there is grossly negligent poaching) will continue despite all the time and effort put into this video and the website.

It's like the government doing a PSA about ISIS but never sending troops to the front lines.

I'm out, gotta pack my house and get ready for my move to the country.
