How badly did Go Hunt wiff on your hunt?

Go hunt was spot on with 2 of my 3 tags this year, based on last year's information so far and will probably go 3 for 3 once the controlled ID applications come out. I drew a muzzleloader tags in UT and NV and will probably draw an antelope tag in ID. I do like the information they provide and find it very useful. If I only applied on 1-2 states I probably wouldn't spend the $$ on it, but 3 or more states I feel it is pretty useful and accurate. Best part is it is so easy to access the information quickly. No need to download 10 states worth of pdf files.

I was a member of Go Hunt a few years ago. They do a decent job of presenting information to you, but having a subscription doesn't mean you can just turn your brain off. Do you really expect them to predict odds? They don't even know quotas for the next year when they publish their data.
Is that why Go Hunt never turns in my hunt applications? No wonder I haven't drawn anything in the last 5 years. I thought they were reading my mind and sneaking into my house in the middle of the night and filling out my applications for me.

My fault? Why would you assume I got my hopes up? Assuming? You're watching too much Oprah. My Go Hunt subscription is pretty safe.

I understand what Go Hunt is and is not.

I'm just curious how accurate they were. Some of you HTers think I must kill puppies in my spare time.
Your initial thread was pretty convincing that you do not know what it is or isn't. It isn't a question of accuracy, they were never trying to be accurate, simply giving you a gauge for what you could potentially expect based on previous years

Go Hunt predicted 100% odds for a WY special draw antelope hunt @ 3pts. Reality was 10% odds @ 4 pts I did not draw. Would love to know how badly Bro Hunt whiffed for you this year. Yeah I know it's not a crystal ball...however.

It sure would be great if they posted how close their prediction was to reality. I guarantee we never see that data. Let's see if we can't piece together the reality from fantasy ourselves.

How badly did Go Hunt wiff on predicting draw odds for your hunt this year?
What is Go Hunt?

In the engineering world we call that modeling, some call it forecasting, others call it predicting. It's data that's supposed to help you make an informed decision. My simple question is only how accurate was their data in your informed decision making?

Good Lord we have a winner!!!

An honest answer to an honest question.

If I could transfer some of my Wyoming antelope points as a prize you would receive 4 antelope points.

Since that's not possible you will receive 4 high country commando points. Which are good nowhere and redeemable for nothing. But you have my respect bird dog.

As others have pointed out, Gohunts odds are exactly what they say they are... last year's odds. Odds are not predictive. It's a good starting point but with tag reductions and huge increased to applications across the west, it shouldn't be a surprise that the same tag is harder to draw this year.
Please explained to me what odds are and how they're used? I seem to remember Someone describing what odds were in pottery class, but it's been awhile.

You are asking the wrong question. The accuracy of their data can easily be verified by going on the WY Game & Fish site. The question you need to ask is "how accurate was your informed decision making based on Go Hunt's data."

If I want to know the general accuracy of Go Hunt using Hunt Talkers as a specific sample set. You'll have to explain to me how looking up the draw odds for my hunts helps me to that end. Go Hunting must be training their employees using some science fiction type futuristic math that let's you extrapolate numerical confidence for an entire sample set out of one individual.

They didnt, i never have used their service since i can find everything i need on various G&F websites. If you want to blame them for your point short comings, quit the service... see how it goes next season
Dude why the angst? It was a chill question. I'd never quit my sugar daddy.

Full disclosure I think Toprut is not only more user friendly but more accurate. Good Lord I can hear you thinking it..."that sum brick HighCountry must be a commie!"
They both present the exact same data though, right? Neither can be more accurate in the way they present draw odds.

If you don't want to answer the honest inquiry...

"How badly did Go Hunt wiff on predicting draw odds for your hunt this year?"

Then kindly stay off the thread professor because it's not for you.
Were you actually using than as a prediction? If your gonna argue draw odds with @WapitiBob, your bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Someone is mad they didn’t get “their” tag. Complaining about your misunderstanding of a sponsor’s product on a forum you use for free is like pissing into a fan and blaming it for getting you wet.
The only part you got wrong was assuming I'm mad about the tag.
