I learn from all people, those I like and those I don't. And probably some of my best lessons in life have been from people who were correct and could get "under my skin". I am not so narrow minded that I can only learn from those who pat me on the head.

As a hunter and fisherman, don't you think YOU have a responsibility to edjumacate those who break the law or show poor taste? Does your looking the other way help or hurt our sport?

Just imagine if our education system was like this. You think our youths have it hard now, just think what they would be like sitting in class and beeing addressed like this.

Jose, how would you react if the school system was like this to your children? It isn't just learning from someone who get's under your skin, but repecting what you have learned and the person who taught you for opeing your eyes and seeing the light. How would you like it if your child was to go hunting with another adult and all they did all day was call them stupid, dumb ass, moron, assclown, clueless, idiot or any of the other names you guys sling around? And don't give me this crap that your friends wouldn't do that. I would really like to know what your reaction would be in that situation. I know, your friends would never do anything wrong and blah, blah, blah, so just make believe that this adult teaching your child how to hunt or fish was not as superior as you think, and this is the way they were to your child.

Point being is, there are a lot of new hunters, fisherpeople who come to these boards so they can learn. There are also a lot of younger, not nearly as experienced in life as you and Buzz, that read these posts. Is this the way you want new outdoorspeople and our youth to be taught?

Every sportsmen has an obligation to READ THE FREAKING REGULATIONS. I dont care who you are...if someone is so DUMB that they cant comprehend something as simple as fishing regs...you deserve to be called a dumbass.

If anyone is so DUMB that they cant figure out that a threatened species should be handled with extreme care...they deserve to be called a dumbass.

If anyone is so DUMB that they cant figure out they shouldnt post pictures that could land them in hot water...they deserve to be called a dumbass.

Look, an honest mistake is one thing a complete disregard for yourself, your fellow outdoorsmen, Threatened species, proper handling of fish, digging pits on public lands, posting degrading pics of yourself screwing dead elk, etc. etc. etc. Theres just no excuse for that kind of shit...and I dont care who you are. The people that do these types of things really are truly dumbasses...and thats a fact.

Russ, sorry dude but Buzz is correct on this one, you effed up. By taking the fish out of the water you broke the law.

We have essentially the same rule here in AK and it is vigorously enforced. It doesn't say immediately released after pictures are taken, it says immediately, which by definition (here in AK) means as soon as reasonably possible with out undue stress to the fish. I'm a barbless hook & forceps guy myself.

Generally in AK, if you're touching a fish that must be released and you aren't in the act of reviving it, you're getting cited.

First of all Buzz, if you read any of the above, you would see that this has not a damn thing to do with anything more than the way you and Jose treat and talk to others on the board. But, we can agree on something, it is probable that the Cheese did not learn a single thing on this thread, and he will likely committ the same offenses in the future. But, perhaps a single person has now read and understands how to catch and release fish without doing stupid things like the Cheese did. His pictures are likely going to be put in the MT Fish and Wildlife regs on how NOT to do it.
