My wife and I are extremly tired of, and dissapointed in, CA. I am looking to relocate to a state where my son can grow up hunting elk, deer, and enjoy the mountains. Is there opportunities in places like Cheyenne for someone with a Construction Management degree? Or is finding work out there going to be a problem? I recently left NM for a good job here in CA and I kick myself for it everyday. The pay is definetly not worth it. I appreciate any comments you might have.

I travel to a lot of places across North America for my job (sales) and I can't help but think how beautiful Salt Lake city is everytime I'm there. Mountains all around it's only a few hours from southwest Wyoming and southern Idaho. I haven't been to a lot of the smaller/ mid size towns, but for a bigger city, SLC has a great feel and there are mountains all around. I am sure there are a lot of opportunities for someone with you background also.

I've asking the wife about relocating and she's not budging. Minnesota born and raised for her :) !

Hahaha...

Sorry, my reaction to SLC is the exact opposite every time I go through.

Utah has some awesome places, but I can't stand SLC... but then again, I can't stand any bigger cities.

The only place I get to go is the larger cities when I'm traveling. Since December that has been Seattle, San Fran, Los Angeles, Denver, SLC, San Diego, Lincoln, Kansas City, Cincinatti, Chicago, Columbus,OH, Indianapolis, St. Louis..... and on and on.

My favorite has been Salt Lake City. I'm sure if I had the opportunity to visit the smaller towns I would like them a lot more..... just not any of my customers there :)!

There is a lot of work going on on the air force base, the university of Wyoming is always building. Check with companies like Sampson, GE Johnson, haseldon, even the state of Wyoming. I work in the construction business a lot as a surveyor and it is slow here in Laramie, but it is really picking up. And just an FYI I can't stand Cheyenne.:D

I'm in agreement here. I used to go to SLC every week on business. Don't think I could ever move there, despite the beauty. The LDS does spend a lot of money on construction though and it seems like the greater SLC area is growing. Now I could go north or south at least an hour and be ok. I liked the Lehi area.

Like Outdoor Junkie, I'm out on the road a lot but not always big cities. I was in Cheyenne a few weeks ago. This week is Minneapolis and Madison, WI. A few weeks ago Eau Claire, WI, Phoenix & DFW.

Been all over the west for work and if I ever move from CO it would be NW Wy, ID or MT.
