Help me choose a 22-250

I'm a Ruger guy. I have a 22-250 in a #1. If I had it to do over again I would have bought a Ruger Predator in 22-250 and chosen another caliber for the #1. I don't like the 1:14 twist of the #1. The slow twist is too limiting to bullet selection.

Do you think modifying 22-250 to an AI with the 14:1 twist would do any good or should I be happy with what I have?
Build what ever you want.
But your limited to bullet choice with 14twt.
If I was dead set on 22-250 especially a
Ai version it would have a 7 or 8twt.
Then you can shoot a big variety of bullets. 🎅

It's not a new build. I've had the rifle for a while. I'm looking to be able to shoot something heavier than 53gr. in copper. I can get 62gr. Nosler stabilized, but they are not legal to hunt in the state of newsome.

An AI is great on a new build, but not enough of a difference on just rechambering the current barrel, especially at a 14twist. You’ll just burn a little more powder for no practical down range gains.

Or build a 22 Creedmoor which is basically the 250AI with a 30 degree shoulder instead of the Ackley 40degree.

I'm looking at this cartridge for a solid range and varmint rifle. I probably won't be able to break the bank (<$1000), so I'm considering affordable, out-of-the-box shooter. Threaded barrel would be a plus. Lot's of options fit these criteria: the Howa 1500, Remington 700, CVA Cascade, etc. etc.

For those that shoot 22-250, what do you have? What do you like, dislike? What considerations should I make? What twist rate would you recommend? School me on your 22-250
New to ht. I have a 700 vls 22-250 that is a great shooter, you just wouldn't want to pack it around all day with the heavy barrel.
