Help launch the North American Pronghorn Foundation - GoFundMe

I just picked up a pronghorn tag and I ironically ran across this thread again, so I’m gonna have fun with it.

One day hunt by Casper. If I don’t shoot anything, $100 in the pot. If I shoot one and it’s smaller than the buck I shot last year, $75. If I shoot one and it’s bigger than the buck from last year, $50.

See you cool cats Sunday morning.

Done! I threw my hat in the ring with 125,,. I've only eaten pronghorn twice and both times it tasted like roadkill. Couldn't even make chili with the meat. Good on you folks for helping out these nasty critters
I hear that once in a while. I think it is because pronghorn are typically hunted in hot weather and meat care is so time critical then. Also, they often live in sagebrush country and they have a peculiar smell. Combine that with hair that comes out super easy and I believe people get that hair on the meat and it taints it. When taken care of properly, it is right at the top of our list of favorite meat. Give it another shot sometime and thanks for helping out.

Spot on analysis. Both were taken in ~100° temps and it was probably 3-4 hours before they saw ice. Ditto on the sagebrush.

Just a quick update: we are actively moving forward with 501C3 filing, branding, logo, bylaws, etc. We are moving the ball forward!

That's awesome, I can't wait to see this thing go live! You would think that with the amount of pronghorn hunters out west, we would've reached the 10k already. Another donation on behalf of my kids for their favourite animal (clearly influenced by dad...)!

Can't wait to get my lifetime NAPF membership!!! Damn, these words sound pretty good!!!

Fellow HuntTalkers and Conservationists,

As you may be aware, most all of our big game animals have a non-profit organization advocating for the well-being and permanent future presence of a sustainable, healthy, and huntable population. The one exception is the Pronghorn. But a group of us hope to change that with the establishment of the "North American Pronghorn Foundation". Our initial step is to complete the necessary paperwork to make this an official organization. If you're interested in helping this cause get on its feet, please see the attached GoFundMe link to show your support.

Feel free to message any of us listed, if you have any questions or would like to be involved. We are of course in the fledging stages, but we have high aspirations and would love to have many of you join as future members so we can help this important mission grow.

Because part of the funds raised in this initial effort will be used to file for 501c3 tax exempt status, any donation to this GoFundMe will not be tax deductible.

In addition to 501c3 tax exempt status, the funds raised here will be used for other start-up costs that will include logo/branding, website/systems management, and leveraged for additional fundraising.

Thanks in advance, and goatspeed!

Have you all cross posted this onto social media and tagged groups like meateater and other “influencers”?

I still need to donate and will today but just curious.

What about a mention from Fresh Tracks TV and podcasts for interviews? Or will that be more beneficial when you are looking for membership?
We have an invite to interview with outdoor life and Andrew Mckean, but we want to wait until we have the website up and are prepared to accept traffic. Randy has graciously offered all of his platforms, but the same thought process applies. We want our i’s dotted and t’s crossed before we open the proverbial gates.
