You guys have me looking hard at that BD storm. 160 lumens!! Carried my bear spray ungloved, out of the pouch, safety off every morning this weekend, my headlamp did not seem adequate. You would think grizzlies would be sleeping by now no?? Oh heck no! He's walking up and down my trail, jeez!!!
I have a couple Black Diamonds. I think a Cosmo in the truck, a Cosmo for the camp/back up, and a Spot for the pack. All take 3 AAA's which is lighter and they seem to last a long time for me (seldom use on the bright setting). All are adjustable, lockable, and have a battery meter built in.
Black Diamond Icon, I have multiples and use them when fighting fires in the summer, hunting and ice fishing and never had a single issue. They use AA batteries, my only issue would be that when wearing a ball cap they may not adjust towards the ground as far as I would like
