Up in one of my favorite places on this entire planet (northern MN) on a big lake looking for perch and eyes. Here until Monday.

It's cold and blustery outside but warm in the new enclosed SxS we just got!

Got 2 eyes so far, good ones. No perch yet.

Nope, this is something new for us having an enclosed sxs but we know this lake very well and we usually get them in one of three places. Our plan was to go to each one and rather than hole hop and jig, we put out the 4 lines across the ledge and wait using the sxs as a nice wind break. No need for the heat in there when we are bundled up in our gear for the single digit temps

Three eyes and a massive perch through the night here on the rattle reels. I'll save the photos this time as the longies were off to sleep. Don't want to get @SwaggyD any more turned on.

Sorry @Treeshark I don't think I can get a photo outside, it's a complete whiteout.

Got a few smaller perch (9 to 10 inches) but only keep one good one and 1 more eye since daybreak. Sure glad to be inside

No, it's nice but not an ice fishing rig

We are cheating for lunch since no fish biting since about 9am anyways. Plus we need more sucker minnows anyways. Let's see if they know how to make an old fashioned right. Pizza looks amazing.

Food was solid, old fashion was made correctly and other than just a bit too much sugar was great. Wife loved her bloody.

We returned and wife immediately got a nice eye. Closer to dark we finally kept our last one to polish off the limit. We caught and released so many eyes already, its been fantastic to just keep those from 16 to 18. We cleaned a bunch and about to eat some for supper. This will allow us a chance to catch a few more tomorrow.



All the cool kids glow their shack, ours should be easy to find out there, even if we are miles from the rest you can see off in the distance. Maybe that is why the fishing is so good over here?
