Happy Wheel Gun Wednesday

Speaking of wheelguns.....question for everyone??? Anyone shot or own a 327 Federal? This thread had me googling.

Ruger SP101 3” in 327. Fun gun to shoot, wife usually carries it when we’re hunting.
I’d like to pick up a 327 Ruger single action but they’re apparently made of gold based on some of the prices out there.

I’ve been so close to buying one of the HR sportsman so many times, just never seem to get myself to do it though. How do you like it?
You should do it. They’re a sweet little fun. It was my dad’s. I got my first kill with it when I was probably like 10 yrs old; I killed a red squirrel with it. Took it out shooting just yesterday; still puts em right where you point it. My dad passed in Oct, and it was one of the first guns I made sure made its way to my safe.

I’m sorry for your loss. That’s a great keepsake, and sounds like a pistol worth having even if it wasn’t.

Here’s a couple that I bought and sold. The SP101 was my first pistol but the ergonomics sucked for my large hands. Basically had to have my finger half way through the trigger guard. Carried it daily for a couple years before I got a better carry gun. Shot literally thousands of rounds through that little .357 and really only shot it double action. When I got rid of it I knew I couldn’t be without a .357 in my life so
I bought the GP100. It’s fits me perfectly.

My first foray into .44mag was a Ruger SBH. Again, too long for my preferences but it got me into the .44 mag. Sold that one and bought the Redhawk that I’d dreamed of owning as a teen.

When we transitioned from S&W 686 .357 Mag. to Glock 23 .40’s, it was tough for some of the older officers. The guys who had bad experiences in Viet Nam with the newfangled M-16 were especially against the change. I still have both.
