Good morning everyone!

In a few days there will be a firearms auction with many of the firearms listed, about half, from my late grand-father's estate. This is the largest and most reputable auction house in this part of the state. Out of state buyers are welcome, local laws apply, but will need to pay for FFL shipping/transfer fees.

While I wish there was a world in which I'd have been able to keep everything in the family it just wasn't possible. There IS such a thing as too many guns, lol. I got the opportunity to keep some of the guns that I deemed to have the most sentimental value. I also pulled out a few guns - rifles and shotguns for great grand kids to use in the future. There was about 40 guns that need to be sold and this is the most efficient method to do so. The auctioneer had two smaller estates, 25 guns each, join in to get the total up around 90. I've set this whole thing up on behalf of my mom, proceeds go to her so bid high!

Absentee bids/reserve can be called in starting today at the auction house: 570-966-2512.

Photos are found here: LINK

There are a few very rare, collectable items in there. If anyone has any questions or wants to see more photos they can contact either me or the auction house. PM's are welcome but I can only speak for the stuff that's from my grandfather's estate (+/- 40 of them). If looking at the photo link, the first 80 or so pictures (through the handguns) are items I can give more information on.

The sale bill is pictured below:

PS - Randy, I know it isn't a conventional classified ad, but I think there may be some members on here that may find some items they have interest in.

What i believe is a brand new, unfired, Remington 700 Varmint Special 243 Win (pictures pending) is getting added in. Also 7 totes full of (mostly) shotgun reloading stuff and presses.

Wow, that's a lot of variety. Doesn't look like there's an online option for bidding?
Nah, it's old school. You can call the auctioneer and place an absentee bid OR if there's anything that you're super interested in/valuable you can likely arrange to have them call you when it's being auctioned and they'll have someone bid on your behalf with you live on the other end of the phone.

There's been a few bids placed by people all over the country, even before i posted on here. Pretty wild how far news of a small auction travels

Someone else wanted to see the authentic carbine stamp on the 35 Ren carbine (the most rare of all factory 760s, 1 of 450) and the forearm of the .223 rem 760 (also very rare)20240119_162016.jpg20240119_162220.jpg

This is most of them, a few added and a few removed from the sale post-photo.

And a fancy AI restored photo of the man himself after receiving an Ithaca M37R 12ga from his fiance in 1953, the Christmas before they were married.

And seen here, the first time it was ever used by someone other than himself after 70 years.

It was reblued in the 80s by a "friend that knew what they were doing" and it got fudged up a bit. I've already got a date with a PA gunsmith that specializes in full top to bottom restores of M37s. It'll never leave the family

I'm reluctant to to say lol. The remington in .222 those guns are shooters. Especially in that chambering in my experience.

I was hoping it was one of ours, I was going to tempt you with more photos lol

Someone asked for pictures of the oddball. Sharing with the class again.
