Guesses on Score?

Pics are junk but he's got 4 on each side plus eye guards. Angle in the pic. Makes him look wider than he is.

Be careful passing bucks because they don't appear wide enough if you are particularly concerned with score (not judging either way). High-and-tights will score better than wide bucks all other things being equal. Tine length dominates score.

I would say 120 to 125". A nice buck as well. I would kill the first one over him though. People need to think of score in terms of total inches of bone (mass and length). It's amazing how a 120" compares to a 140" deer. 20 inches in measurements difference wise is a hell of a thing.
Took me along time to learn that. It's eye opening once you starting actually measuring.

It is! Took me a while as well. My buddy killed a bull that was 366" two years ago and compared it to my brother's bull that scored 334" and it's night and day. It's kind of like people that kill 400 pound black bears every year. I've drugged a lot of bears in my former career and they seem to be about 1/2 to 1/3 of what you guess.

Yah people get offended when you tape out there 140" whitetail and it's 120. I've been guilty of it many times myself. Even at 140 it takes a pretty big deer to make that. A lot bigger than I think most hunters realize until they actually start taping them out.

This one scored in the 160s can't remember exact total...don't really care but I agree people over estimate the score most of the time.

Same with wolves. Everyone thinks they are all 150 pounders

I’ve killed 130” and 150” 4 point whitetails. That first one is over 130”. I’d say low 140”s. Second one is a dink.

So true.
I run a taxidermy business and people ask me a lot "what do you think he scores?" I don't want to rain on their parade so I will say "Man I'm not an official scorer", which is true. I sure don't want them upset at me after they just dropped off the deer for me to mount. Let someone else have to that responsibility.
It's also irritating when someone else like a guide or a buddy has built up an animal to be bigger than what it is and then they bring it to me and I know better.

148 might be a stretch but he has better mass, better tine length, and brows than any of those three that npaden shows pictures of.

On his right side I have:
G14
G212
G310
Mass 14
Mass 23.75
Mass 33.5
Mass. 43.25
Main beam20

His left side is a little weaker but very similar, with a kicker.
Left60.5
Right60.5
Spread17
Total138

I’m probably 1-2” short on main beam length and I could be low on spread.
This is where I landed too on the first buck, maybe closer to 135”, but shoot him and let us know

2nd buck looks to be 3” outside of ears, so 22” inside is my guess (16” ear base, + 3” each side):

(4, 5, 7, 4, 22, 15) x 2 + 22

136”, could be high on beams, might be more of a 14” mass buck too.

Pretty sad to me that a hunter would be excited enough about a buck to have it mounted then be upset about a number.
