I broke down and bought an old used gas one. I was so sick of sweating my arse off before I get a line in the water. Nowadays I bring it along in case I need to warm up! One time through 12+" of ice, I'm good to freeze again!Hand auger is all I have. One time, one of the screws that hold the blades on sheared off and I was only cutting with one blade. By the time I got the hole drilled I was so boiling pissed I could’ve melted a hole faster.
No. Real ice fishing is less fun, more drunk and colder.I've never been ice fishing. Is that a pretty accurate representation?
I fixed your comment! All joking aside, there are aspects of ice fishing that I like more than open water fishing. I blame my Scandinavian heritage. The trick is to bring a radio. Tune it to your local sports channel and relax.Says the guy who boats around the same lake and catches the same quantity of fish as the one sitting over a single augered hole and drinking a pack of beer during winter.

Nice haul! It's hard to tell, but are those lawyers in the back?
Great movie. I enjoy their fishing derby in February! Lots of people and lots of fun with few fish!Meh.
