His own version of humility, love for humankind and perseverance in both boxing and life inspired me. i hope the Champ rests in peace and love.

I ran into Big George in Livermore one evening. He blocked out the entire doorway. We had a short exchange of pleasantries. He was a very nice friendly guy. RIP Big George.

I fought for 12 years as an amateur boxer and watched George as an amateur and a professional. He was a great champion with a huge heart. Rest in peace George and blessings to your family.
