I was a huge fan as a little kid and talked my dad into buying the grill.

On a lighter note, it’s too bad he passed before he was old enough to fight one of the Paul brothers.

When I was competitively boxing my style was much different than his but I translated his version of defense, using what your body gives you, into my own style. His own version of humility, love for humankind and perseverance in both boxing and life inspired me. i hope the Champ rests in peace and love.

I ran into Big George in Livermore one evening. He blocked out the entire doorway. We had a short exchange of pleasantries. He was a very nice friendly guy. RIP Big George.

I fought for 12 years as an amateur boxer and watched George as an amateur and a professional. He was a great champion with a huge heart. Rest in peace George and blessings to your family.
