My first bird dog is a mutt, half french and half standard Brittany. Both parents from breeders known for good hunting lines, but my pups parents don't hunt. She's going to be 3 this year, and I couldn't be happier with her. Enjoy your pup!

Can anyone give budget numbers for buying a brit pup from a reputable breeder?

German shorthairs seem to be going for around $2,000 from reputable breeders. But the fact is, the purchase price of a puppy is about the cheapest cost over the life of the dog.

I just picked up Dewey about 6 weeks ago from a very reputable breeder for $900.00. Seems about $1,500.00 is pretty standard.

Wonderful, smart pup. Giant pain in the ass.
