Made my last trip into the Frank Church for the year. Flew in and spent 5 days working. Tough trip for sure.

The work I had was up Marble Creek, a fairly good tributary to the Middle Fork.

Heres a picture looking up Birch Creek, a tributary of Marble:

Mitchell Ranch about 3 miles up Marble Creek. Just a few foundations and a run down corral are present:

Walking along and noticed a notch in this Pondersa Pine:

Looked closer and found some writing. Not sure what it said, but I think it was the name of a lodge perhaps, and the month of September:

A closer look revealed a date of I believe 1885:

I saw 2 mule deer and 1 good black bear...lots of grouse and some chukars.
