For the Griz fans

Congrats, T. Boone recruited a great team. I don't claim that the top FCS schools could compete with the big time BCS programs, but the margin between the great FCS schools and the non-elite FBS programs is smaller than rubes like you think. I'm just happy that my alma mater could not have accomplished any more than it did this year. Maybe next time I'll start a thread about vinegar based personal hygiene products and that will be of more interest (and help) to you.

Oh, and too bad Oklahoma State shit the bed against Iowa State (???) or they could have been playing for more than a bag of cash and third place

Rube? Really. Coming from somebody who graduated from a school that plays little league sports and is ranked about 200 the nation academically that doesn't mean much. Vinegar? help me? You really gave that brain of yours a workout.

Yea we missed a kick and lost a game. It happens, at least it was on tv. I didn't catch any bison games on tv this season. I figure the championship game was on espn 4 alternate but only get 1 and 2. The rest of the bison games were filmed by the players moms and posted on you tube.

You might check with the longhorn network. They aren't allowed to show high school games but I bet they might get away with griz, cats, and bison games since nobody in the big 12 recruited those players.

I don't think you understand how gratifying it is to watch my team win at little league sports! Oklahoma State, the Harvard of the midwest!

If you remember you called me stupid not the other way around. We are used to the aggie jokes coming from the sooners and Longhorns so coming from a nd bison it's pretty funny. Ok state is no Harvard but its ranked a lot better than 200th.

I did research the tv ratings and the championship game was a 1.3, confirming that nobody cares about that league and it's championship. Way behind womens basketball and even lower than some little league world series games. Enjoy your celebration.

How did Oklahoma State lose to Iowa State???? Iowa State beat Northern Iowa (FCS) by one point. Both the Montana Grizzlies and North Dakota State Bison beat Northern Iowa worse then that. ;)

Wyoming and BBD.... would love to know who you cheer for? LSU and Alabama? Cuz there the only ones really playing for anything of any worth in FBS this year...

hahaha Nevada Wolf Pack (6th in total offense, 10th in rushing). Get off your FCS high. the FCS sucks and the worst of the worst FBS teams could be the FCS champs with 3rd stringers. My god bro

Furthering mine and Wyos point I just checked ESPN for some statistical ammunition

...is there an FBS category for tatoos, suspensions, sholastic probation, criminal probation, paternity suits, pedo-coaches, new cars grandma bought ....etc?;)

It is funny how this thread has turned. The original poster said there are no players in FCS could be a pro player, that was the original argument. He was shown he doesn't follow pro football and that many do make it.

Now it is changed to The teams aren't as good as the FBS, no shit they aren't as good except once in a while when all the planets are lined up right. Ask Michigan when Appy State came into the big house and shocked those superior athletes.

So Big Bucks how old are you? Do you remember when Nevada Reno and Boise State were in the BIg Sky conference (FCS). You didn't watch them back then, was it beneath you.

My best friend played for Boise State back then and got drafted by the Cowboys and played for the LA Raiders. I will tell him today that never happened because Boise was in the FCS back then.

Furthering mine and Wyos point I just checked ESPN for some statistical ammunition and unfortunately they dont log any of their FCS stats because clearly, NOBODY CARES

http://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/team/_/stat/total/group/81

Here is in an interesting stat, NDSU has a higher average attendance at football games than Nevada despite a much smaller stadium.

Here's another, Nevada is barely a .500 team in what may be the worst FBS division (Sagarin has it ranked as the third to worst FBS division).

I don't believe NDSU would compete in the Big 12 or SEC or other power conferences, but the fact is Montana/NDSU/Appy State would make the WAC better.

Comparing FCS, and FBS teams is stupid. Of course their not in the same category. That's by design. They don't share the same things that would make them equals. Budgets, Coaching salaries, scholarships, populations.

Wyoming 556 How many people live in your home state? There's less than a million in Montana, and not many more in North Dakota. Our recruiters have to look elsewhere to fill up what scholarships we get.

FYI, anybody playing against any Oklahoma team is the team I cheer for.
I loved it when Boise beat Oklahoma a few years back.

Attendance doesnt mean shit when you can watch the games on ESPN for your first point. The second point is also wrong because we finished 7-5 this season not to mention with a freshman quarterback and a very young defense. We are ranked in the top 10 FBS for total yards (behind Houston, Baylor, OK State, Oregon and Oklahoma all of which had heisman caliber quarterbacks) and rushing yards. The WAC isnt the strongest conference but it sure as hell shits on the MAC and Conference USA. I guarantee you any team from the WAC would beat MONT or ND State. We are going to the MWC next year where we will dominate because boise and TCU will be gone thus leaving no competition. ESPN articles stated last season that had we gone undefeated (12-1) we still would not have seen a big title game because we are in the WAC but the analysts looked at the team and realized we could have competed with the top 5 easy. Until we go into a stronger conference national attention is hard for us because of the dominence of the SEC, PAC 12, BIG 10 and Big 12. Even out of those conferences we could easily beat the lower halves from each respective conference.

I will say though that there is some fat that could be trimmed from the FBS for sure maybe if they got cut then your FCS boys could come up and lose in a real football game

According to the NV athletics website, you had 2 games on ESPN cable networks this year... same as NDSU!!! Other games were shown on local and regional networks... like NDSU!!!

It must be exciting to be moving from one weak conference to another weak conference where the pinnacle of your season is playing in some Moral Victory Bowl. You admit that in the best season likely in Nevada history you didn't get admitted into the big boys club yet you somehow think that level of football is better than FCS? The difference in quality of football between non-BCS 1-A and 1-AA is not nearly as big as you think despite the schollie inequality.

Both NDSU and MT would have won plenty of games in the WAC this year. Cripes, NDSU is 3-2 in our last 5 games against BCS conference opponents. We weren't beating elite BCS teams, but it blows giant holes in your theory that in no way can any FCS team compete with even the worst of FBS teams.

The victories were marginal at best against teams like Minnesota, Kansas, Iowa State, Wyoming all teams that are the excess fat of the FBS. minus minnesota your 1-1 against the others which in order to be FBS competitive youd have to be clobbering them not winning marginally or losing at all. Period

BTW Your 2 espn games were postseason. Of course theyll show those, hell they cover bowling and womens college basketball

In the last decade, only 6 times out of 10 has Nevada had a winning record and only 2 seasons with LESS THAN 5 (FIVE!) LOSSES!!!

How is it that you define marginal?

What I am getting at is that Nevada is a crappy program in a shitty conference (now and in the future) that had lighting strike one year and they had the privilege of playing in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (not making this up). One of your two ESPN appearances was also a postseason bowlgame. If we used your definition of "excess FBS fat", Nevada likely wouldn't make the cut.

Theres always gonna be rebuilding years like you had in 2009 (3-8). Its not a shitty program by any means. Its been said by others above but we are comparing apples and oranges. The FCS sucks and that you guys can win your first national title and now think you can take on the big boys is both stupid and unrealistic. The FBS is where real teams play and against real competition. Im glad you guys have some wins against the shittiest programs in the FBS and that Appalachian State pulled a one and a 100 against michigan but it doesnt mean anything. If I were you id be content knowing im one of the best on JV and leave it at that. Dont come up to varsity and expect great success for a while. Programs evolve but it takes time. Boise overrated but still a good program seeing where they came from, we are on the rise, along with other teams with smaller schools and smaller markets that are now in the FBS. When/if you do come up expect seasons like Minnesotas (3-9), Iowa State (6-7), and Kansas (2-10) because you have "proven" NDSU is on that level. and if you wanna talk about losing seasons the last 5 years for that caliber, 11 between the 3 of em. Good luck

if thats all you got I must have shut you up pretty good. Finished last year ranked #12 and if we arent in the top 25 at next seasons end I will forfeit my use of Hunttalk. Good luck beating us if we ever play. Teams of your caliber "cough cough" UNLV, dont score against us and lose 7 years in a row to us. Cant wait to see the Bison fail if they ever make it up here!

Check this and youll find no mention of NDSU in the conversation about FCS teams that should move up. Montana knows how it goes. Loss of 41-7 to a 6-7 Iowa team. You guys get to lose to them in 2016 for $500,000! Sweeeeeeet

Nevada has 3 teams on their schedule for next year. Cal Bears, and 2 FCS teams Texas State 6-6 last year, and Northwestern State Demons 5-6 last year. LOL Maybe you should talk to the AD at Nevada and tell them how great they are and not to schedule any inferior FCS teams.

Sam Houston State raped both of those teams last year why would Reno want to play them??? I hope one of those two upset your top fantasy top 25 team, you can tell us what crow tastes like. :D
