Football General Talk

It was interesting to learn Carroll pulled Geno as his QB.
Carroll and Geno have good coach / QB chemistry and the value fit for the move. Taking over the 31mil, 16 bonus and giving 3rd round pick... hmmm.

Carroll is a favorite coach, no doubt. Geno is a decent/good QB though if Raiders are trying to re-brand/build from the ground up. Seems Carroll, with Brady's history, is marked for his final NFL push towards retirement and intent to go out with a boom, hopefully more than a bust.
Brady spun heads when he pulled the Bucs to greatness the first year parting from Belichick's world. Carroll pulled out of the, "dismissed pile" for younger coaching to place his mark.

Who knows? Maybe Carroll and Metcalf have another shirtless moment and Metcalf is swept off his feet for Raider Nation land. 😂

Seems a three to five year run for Raiders to rebrand.

Really look forward to Coach Carroll's push.

I would assume if Metcalf wanted out of Seattle it was partly due to wanting to work with a better QB than Geno. In fact if Seattle picks up Rogers or more likely...Darnold who they may be able to get a bit cheaper than Smith was going to cost them...I would expect Metcalf to be happier staying in Seattle. Darnold is an accurate gunslinger with as good an arm as almost anyone...

The Raiders might go the Vikings way...still draft a young QB...and use Geno as a bridge.

Aside from following the Raider's rebranding via Brady and Carroll, I think Broncos have good potential for playoffs and I'd like to see how the 9ers pan out. Those are the three teams of interest for this upcoming year.

It was a dumb question. Dude. mtmuley
No wasn't....even Mahones can fare poorly if harassed by a relentless defense. Vikings O line was very bad in those two games.

Showed especially against Detroit. A decimated by injury D that still put tons of pressure on Darnold. He did well not to be sacked more often.

The Rams have a decent d line.I think Darnold was sacked 8 or 9 times and again had little time to throw.

No. My opinion of Mahomes as a quarterback has not changed. Yes, dumb question. I don't have time to explore the stats of the two, and their accomplishments but I bet you do. mtmuley

come on @mtmuley . You are not the Designator of Dumbness, and no where does it says we cannot ask dumb questions anyway. Keep your attitude in check. If your time is so short, just cut out responding to posts you personally consider dumb. This is a friendly place. Let's keep it that way.

Thanks Brent. I'll strive to do better and be more friendly, check my attitude and refrain from responding to "dumbness". mtmuley

I think the geno move makes a lot of sense for vegas. Honestly, I think the first step is just trying to steady the ship, not win right away. That franchise has been so awfully ran for so long I feel like they know they have a long way to go. Either way, I’ll laugh my ass off when they do something to ruin it all.
Dysfunctional franchises do dysfunctional things.

Does a dysfunctional franchise ever pull out of dysfunction w/o a major change in ownership?

Are dysfunctional pro teams, esp. NFL, more common than among other businesses?
