And the packers losses were good? Did you forget they lost to the bears between the vikings and eagles to end their season on a 3-game losing streak? They both suck, just that the packers suck more this year!
I never said that. In fact if you look back I’ve been very critical of the packers. I don’t have blinders on for my team. I’ve called a spade a spade.

Yes I do. It's about having it together to be able to handle being down and not letting a game get away that shouldn't or being ahead and keeping humble and focused to get the job done. The team had that this year very much so like the Chiefs do. A refusal to lose a game you shouldn't.

The Packers were rightfully so a playoff caliber team and matched expectations about exactly. At the start of the season, no one was claiming them as a favorite to make the Super Bowl but they were in the group discussed as having a shot. Exactly the same spot at the start of the playoffs.
After the packers made the NFC divisional round last year and had for most part many of the key players returning, (or an upgrade like Josh Jacobs) there were high hopes from the fan base and many people were picking them to make a deep run. Going into the playoffs I don’t think a single national football pundit picked them to win against the Eagles. Thats a disappointment.

The Packers took a step back this season. They did not win a playoff game this year, and looked abysmal in the loss. Last year they did, and threatened a second round win.

LaFleur has pressure on him in 2025. If they do not make a run, his seat will become very hot. Stupid penalties and poor clock management is becoming his trademark, that needs to change.

Packers need a WR1, pass rusher, and a top corner to compete with the top tier teams (just like most teams, I suppose). I look for their GM to acquire at least one or two of these needs in free agency.

Pending results of the lions game next weekend I have changed from thinking the NFC north was the best division to overrated and benefitted from a weak out of division schedule. The packers were 1 and 8 or 9? Against playoff teams. There other wins came from non playoff teams.

Lions, vikings, and packers all went 4-0 against the AFC South.

Lions and packers went 4-0 against the NFC West, and vikings were 3-1.

WE DID IT!!!!!!

It took to page 401 and over 8000 posts, but we made a whole page without mentioning the COWBOYS!!!
Good job, guys. Now carry on
So then...more talk about Deion and his boy as the face of the Dallas Stars? 11billion business up to 12 billion overnight on that one?

I’m thinking @Gellar assessment of Darnold is the best of the armchair opinions. Two bad games, the ones that really counted are a sour taste, but the guy performed very well over a season as a whole. Darnold would give the Vikings the best chance of another good run next year.

Vikes chasing a win-now for ‘25 is a little more that a fool’s errand though. They had just the right balance of ingredients to make a rebuild year look WAY better than anyone expected. It is a fragile balance, and easily unraveled.

Take your lumps, stick with a long-term strategy, and be ready to step on the gas when the stars align to push your team over the edge, whenever that opportunity arises.

I say let JJ have the reigns without the enormous pressure to perform off the bat. He has more potential upside than carriage-turned-pumpkin.

I think you’re right. I don’t see the Vikes having any chance at a SB win with Darnold.

Who knows with McCarthy, but rolling the dice on that is a better option than continuing with close but no cigar seasons.
