Are you suggesting Demeco Ryan's told Azeez to do what he did or offered him an incentive to do it? Let's have a investigation and trial after every late hit from now on so we can suspend all the people involved.Bounty gate?
Not what I'm saying at allIf you don't think that leadership matters you've never been a part of a team, let alone a good team. Dan Campbell has preached since day one, his very first interview as the headcoach, a toughnose style of football, he's acquired players that fit his style (like all leaders do, thats why if you fire a coach after 1 or 2 years you are an idiot). His leadership shows in how the players act off the field, talk in interviews, and play on the field.
I guess I don't understand what you are trying to say then. Not what I'm saying at all
You are correct that things happen in a game of high speed and that is why the league evaluates all of them and a lot of them are freak. But, When a pattern of behavior is established over a season or a couple of seasons or a coach's time with the team if a coach was not preaching that style of play at every practice, interview, and team meeting don't you think he would have put an end to it?I'm saying there is questionable hits and plays every week in the league in a game played at a high speed. To punish a coach because of a players split second decision on the field is absurd.
In the case of players like Azeez, Burfect, Suh, Finnegan, haynesworth, Harrison, etc...all these players replicating their leadership? Or are they just dirty players? To punish the coach is absurd. This is not peeweeYou are correct that things happen in a game of high speed and that is why the league evaluates all of them and a lot of them are freak. This player was fined twice prior and national broadcasters had previously called out a third instance earlier. This is not a “bang bag” “tough on the D” situation. This is a player that the coaches clearly knew was crossing the line fairly regularly on the field and they absolutely could have forced a change in behavior.I'm saying there is questionable hits and plays every week in the league in a game played at a high speed. Coaches can bench. To pretend they are mere bystanders is absurd. In the case of players like Azeez, Burfect, Suh, Finnegan, haynesworth, Harrison, etc...all these players replicating their leadership? Or are they just dirty players? To punish the coach is absurd. This is not peewee
Sure sounded like it. Maybe you should repeat and reword what you were trying to say, 'cuz that's how I read it.Not what I'm saying at all
For you to act like that's what I mean is also absurd.Coaches can bench. To pretend they are mere bystanders is absurd.
I will agree with this. And that at the highest levels a coach may have just enough arrogance that they think they are capable to change a player.Leadership only goes so far...
The Bills are as good as they are now year in ans year out 100% because of the culture, leadership, and accountability MCD brought to the organization.I will agree with this. And that at the highest levels a coach may have just enough arrogance that they think they are capable to change a player.
One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch.
I can agree under the right facts a GM is responsible too.For you to act like that's what I mean is also absurd.
Leadership only goes so far...character of the player matters more. And since the GM signed the player he needs suspended to.
I'm a hard ass...i want everyone to have the character of Barry Sanders and if they played for me they would or be benched and we would be 0-17 every year. The reality is its not possible and coaches should not be suspended for things like Azeez did last week.I can agree under the right facts a GM is responsible too.
You are being too black and white. Coaches can very much change player behavior. In the particular event, my guess is the player is a good guy who would have responded to coaching around how to play hard but clean. Have coached for many years and have seen big changes in conduct in many many cases. Most folks aren't just good or just bad - most can be good with the right incentives/culture. And there are Super Bowl winning teams with very low rates of unsportsmanlike penalties so the 0-17 straw doesn't advance this issue.I'm a hard ass...i want everyone to have the character of Barry Sanders and if they played for me they would or be benched and we would be 0-17 every year. Things like Bounty gate on the other hand...lifetime ban.
Agreed...except coaches should not be suspended for things like Azeez did. Your so quick to put the blame on the coach. It's ridiculous. You are being to black and white. GO BILLS!In other new, the upcoming game between the Lions & Bill's at Ford Field should be a good one. The Lions defense is decimated so it wouldn't surprise me to see them lose what could possibly be a preview to this year's Super Bowl.
