To me what makes a player successful in the long term is how they adapt after their rookie season after coach’s have tape on them and scheme the entire offseason how to stop them.

There has been a lot of fugliness in college football this year and the last couple weeks in general. Yesterday, was just another example. The Texas-Carolina game wasn't a lot better in the pros, but the college game is spinning out of control at so many levels.

No shit! Just ban them from bowl games for instance. Just hammer the hell out of them and go after specific players as well (so they do not teleportal out of the penalty to another team). Bench them for 10 games or fine the crap out of their NIL money. Now that they are pros, they better act like it. This stuff has gone on way too long, but it seems to have gotten much worse of late. The big time college sports are way out of control, and not just this sort of crap either.

I don't think so. It does not affect the students that cause the problems and scholarships are not as important as they used to be during preNIL and transfer portals.

The problem is that NIL funds are essentially gifts with “trappings” of a license that has little to no teeth or underlying value to any of the donors/sponsors. If they were actual brand agreements there would be all kinds of “morals” provisions (just ask Tiger).

Yep and that’s the problem. Most players aren’t getting an Nil deal from Nike or under armour it’s from joes plumbing shop and joes probably not doing it for advertising but because he’s a fan which is short for fanatic so in his mind paying someone $1000 to wear a joes plumbing hat is helping the team win.

I think universities are going to be very cautious to punish any decent player right now, considering how fluid and competitive the transfer portal is.
