Football General Talk

see what I mean? How about the Pittsburg prisoner stripes (albeit, appropriate for their retired QB)? Or the Dreamsicle (sp?) unis? Every team has a really horrible uniform (at least one). I'm always amazed, in the off season, how the media goes crazy over uniform debuts for the coming season.
Yeah, when the Patriots wear the red and white uniform from yesteryear (painful years) i puke.

Purely by chance, I became a Raiders fan in the late 70s. There were some good years. By 2000, I became a more serious hunter. I couldn't have imagined what a great choice the Raiders would be. Believe me, I haven't felt guilty about hunting on Sunday and missing any of their games, because the outcome has been pretty predictable. I'm far better off than my friends who support winning teams, and skip hunting to catch the game.

Borrowed this and could not agree more;

"If you want bland corporate football product against interchangeable opponents, go watch the NFL."

Sounds like a cheap shot to me from an armchair expert or somebody with a blog.

So what would non-bland corporate football look like?

Talk is cheap. Especially that sort of talk.

It's the most dominant entertainment product America has ever seen - and it hasn't happened by accident. Being number #1 will always attract critics. Many challenges indeed, but few better options if you decide to remain inside on a Sunday.

I love FB from peewee to the pros, but nothing matches the speed, athleticism and strategic considerations of the pros. Some games are going to be great, some are going to suck, such is the nature of all sports.

I suppose it precipitates from comments like this: "Well no matter what colors you see, this game is getting really sloppy. 7 interceptions is a bit much for two teams that want to be considered as contenders. It is an off weekend all across the NFL this week."

Yup. And ignore halk a thousand pretty spectacular events that happened elsewhere in the league.
