I like to gripe and joke about it, but if not her it will be somebody else I don’t care about. They have been flashing to celebs for 40+ years - why does this one grate on you so much that you would stop watching? Lots of good reasons to stop watching, but this one seems iffy.NFL and CBS execs planning SB coverage: “Let’s show Taylor ten times, no A HUNDRED TIMES!”
I could not bring myself to watch the game b/c unlike MtMuley, I feel like my head is going to explode w/ the endless Taylor reaction shots.
Finally at halftime I drug myself to the TV… I watched cartoons with my kids for a half hour before finally clicking over to the game for 2nd half kickoff. I was holding out hope 49’ers would somehow not disappoint…
“It’s just a game.” I can’t do this to myself any longer - no more watching chiefs games until these two break up.
He is too inconsistent in throws more than 10yds beyond line of scrimmage and struggles too much with “second wave” rushers to be elite. 15 QBs can do what he does - and at $1M a year he can lead really good teams. But when he is $40+M and 9ers have to make roster cuts to pay for that, he won’t sniff a Super Bowl.Purdy I thought handled it damn well. I'm happy to call that kid our QB
Too your point, not a single member of the Chiefs offense last night would start on the 9ers except for Mahomes. Although there would be some good Kittle/Kelce debate. The 9ers roster is just better than Chiefs, but Mahomes doesn’t blink.I thought he played ok- slightly above average, which is probably what he is right now.
He didn’t make too many big mistakes, but had trouble after the first read as per usual. He does what they ask him to do very well, but will that be enough? Tough to say (and he is really young). The 49ers will reveal what they think of him by rewarding him with a big contract or not here soon enough.
Let’s be real though- if you switched the two QBs last night, that probably turns a three score game.

Hopefully he has sobered up today or he really won’t like my take.Sorry to offend- didn’t think a fairly benign (and fairly obvious, imo) observation would set anyone off. Wasn’t my intention.
You got to see his brilliance in person, so I will default to your expertise on this one
Cousins is a “game manager” and throws a much more accurate ball beyond the 10yd box that Shannan keeps him in. He is a 10-16 level QB. Which by definition means he is going to make some decent throws sometimes. He is on a stacked roster that in a significant part is stacked because he is cheap. So he will be OK for the next 2 seasons, but when his new salary hits he won’t even be remembered. Remember when we all loved Flacco? In the first half, especially, Purdy made some big time throws that were exactly where they needed to be. Something a game manager would not be expected to do or be able to do. It’s a shame that he’s the 54th paid Qb in the league and won’t be able to renegotiate his contract for 2 years when his rookie contract is up.
No one who knows football is saying Purdy played a better game than Mahomes. But I do agree SF had the stacked roster — making Mahomes all that much better than Purdy. No kidding. If not for a stupid special teams play on that punt and a missed extra point, Mr. Irrelevant wins the super bowl. Two plays completely changed that game. SF was the better team, Purdy played the better game against a great defense.
No you're right your take fkn blows to.Hopefully he has sobered up today or he really won’t like my take.

But the goal is to put the “win on him”, which he failed to do.I thought Purdy played a great game. The majority of teams would love to have him as QB. You can't put that loss on him.
One could extend that to those who love Purdy and hate Hurts and Mahomes. It is a tell of sorts about a person's political views. It is amplified with a generational and gender gap.
Kirk Cousins makes that throw all day, everydayThis is the kinda stuff heartbreak is made out of.
What about those that love Purdy and Mahomes? One could extend that to those who love Purdy and hate Hurts and Mahomes.
Stop drop and roll . . .Yes you did and still are. It was a point about a single player, which is why it is valid
Your counter is only valid at a team level.
my god I can't believe I'm defending buzz. I might need an emergency intervention
I'm not really going to agree with you but more interesting I think is what if he decides to go the Tom Brady model in contracts? He's the kind of guy that might do that.Cousins is a “game manager” and throws a much more accurate ball beyond the 10yd box that Shannan keeps him in. He is a 10-16 level QB. Two Super Bowls in a row. Another guy who earned his crazy salary.Chris Jones imposed much will…Purdy would agree.
Vikes have 4 of those. Are we talking about Marino's Almost Champions commercial?

I can't understand all of this nonsense talk about Purdy and quite frankly Its the most annoying conversation in sports media anymore. He's not this, he ain't that, he's a mid level guy, he has a stacked team blah blah blah. One could extend that to those who love Purdy and hate Hurts and Mahomes.
