Great for Florida that they've got a sustainable bear population to reinstate a hunt. Embarrassed for America by the comment section. The article in the latest Bugle was particularly relevant to this, us hunters/fishermen/conservationists need to do a hell of a lot better on PR.

It really doesn't matter how good the PR is. There are a number of wackos out there that place animals at or above the human level and nothing, no matter how well explained it is, will change their minds until a close relative gets eaten alive by a bear or cougar!

My wife and I were driving thru the Florida pan handle recently and had 3 small bears run out of the swamp and run down the road in front of us.Kind of a surprise as I never thought of Florida having black bears.
