My roommate shot an Antelope today and I got the opportunity to cook it and try it for the first time! I seasoned some back strap steaks and then seared them on each side then added butter, thyme, sea salt, garlic and basted them for about 12 more minutes and they came out medium rare. Way better than I could have ever imagined.B610F2A1-53FC-4A53-ACF9-58CF6B4E4A72.jpeg3EEB2F38-507E-4AA0-B2EA-563E175D7209.jpeg686169CA-1DFC-46EC-8E8A-1EBD777EC6E4.jpeg

I love elk meat and would honestly take antelope steaks over elk steaks. I made lope burger last year as well and my friend who eats a lot of wild game said it’s the best wild game burger he’s ever had. Very tender!

This is the only reason i can figure out that people say antelope is terrible. I'll take antelope over any other meat out there.
My roommate who shot it always says he doesn’t like it, he ate it yesterday and all he could say was that’s antelope however myself and everyone else at dinner couldn’t tell the difference between it and a sirloin at a restaurant.
