First stag of the new season

I'm not a fan of hunting them when they are in velvet, but there have been so many damaging/eating the crops one had to go.
Season started on 1st August.
This is the exit wound, .243 80 grain copper 3100' fps
Top of the heart and lung, ran 75 yards and fell over.
Now I can get back to a bit of fishing!

The .308, it's a Blaser K95....but it stayed at home as it was raining

You live in England, if you're only going to take it out on days it is forecast to not rain, you might never take it out.
