First Rifle

I got my first bb gun when I was 10, my Dad gave me my first 22 when I was 12. I still have it, I have no idea how many shells I have put through it!

I ran around with a BB gun from as early as I can remember. Poor squirrels...

shot a .22 for the first time when I was 9. I was probably 11-12 when I first was allowed to go out and shoot the .22 by myself when we were out at hunting camp. My best friend and loved chasing the red squirrels with that rifle. Still have it and shoot it regularly

I do not think there is anyway to overestimate the importance of red squirrels to creating future big game hunters. This fact is lost on many hunters with kids today, but I think it's true nonetheless. Squirreling teaches so many skills and presents so many challenges, yet has so many rewards as well.
