Thanks for all the great comments. She got her money yesterday for selling the cape. She was pretty stoked, and I think learned a valuable lesson about utilizing as much of your game animal as you can.

My daughter got her deer mount back. I'm impressed with how well it turned out. She's got it hanging up in her room and is pretty jazzed about it.
