Good! Had bear burgers, bear sausage patties and omelettes, and tonight will have bear tacos. No bad smell or anything like that, seems pretty comparable to beef.

Hard to believe that two years have passed since this hunt! I recently got the age of the bear from ADFG, 12 years old.

What size of head does a 12 year old bear have? Wish we had the option to get bears aged here

That one was 19.75. Also, a bear that size produces a roughly 1-year supply of bear chili-soup!

Have you reached out to other provincial biologists? We age all the black bears from several of the other provinces, such as BC and Quebec. You can always send it to us too but it’s pretty cost prohibitive for one guy to send one tooth due to USFWS regulations in getting it into the US.
