KY frog populations (eating size frogs) are way down. Seems like about the time our heron population grew, the frogs diminished.

This year is a weird year for frogs around here. They were very late out of hibernation and to begin calling.

My daughter and I were invited over to a friend’s pond to fish for trout last Friday night. As darkness closed in on us, the bullfrogs started croaking and I immediately thought I needed a gig so I could get a mess of frog legs. After seeing your meal, I am definitely going to have to make that happen.

That was 18 pair, a mess of crappie, and Jr’s spring gobbler. I actually liked the Turkey breast, garlic powdered egg wash, flour’d & deep fried at 350* the best.

frog legs ! with a generous amount of garlic. Dating becomes problematic for a day or two, but thats o.k. Love them !
