by far the biggest-bodied elk I've seen, aged at 8.5 -I thought it was a 310 bull when I shot

1999. I think it was over 300 even with busted right 4, but do not have a scoresheet or the antlers to confirm. I mostly remember he was a 3 legged elk (tripod). That same year my friend shot a 2-legged (bipod)elk 5x5 measured 287. It had been attacked by a bear or lion and was basically a mercy killing.

2014 was the last year I thought hunting was still really great close to home. I got an elk during archery then hunted a lot of rifle with my son and friends. Top was 360s, bottom think around 300(a good picture).

Incredible bulls, my take aways from this thread:
1. When Greenhorn says the hunting has changed in MT, might best just listen to what he's saying.
2. Guessing score is difficult, especially with deceptive photos.
3. I don't really care about score, especially net, two totally different bulls can have the same score, and some of my favorite bulls you all posted weren't always the biggest.

My wife's bulls, 351, 352 with the broken tines. The broken pedicle bull is a favorite and in my top 5 of all time elk hunts.
