Chocolate horns look awesome!First archery bull of mine. Shot him at 5 yards after calling him across the field. He walked in front of our makeshift blind broadside. Can't wait to do it again.

My first elk on my 33rd birthday in 2019 in CO GMU 76! Stalked a bugling bull and his harem up through this valley, then stumbled onto the herd. "Bugs Bunny" creeped onto the full herd and got behind a rock - picked out a cow that turned broadside and made a great lung shot at 240yds.
Husband unit and I are archery hunting for the first time this year and I couldn't be more excited. Counting down the days. Really want to get one before he does
Nice Bull, didn't know CA even had elk!Got lucky and drew a CA bull tag last year. Was able to connect on a nice Rosie.
Congratulations! BTW, I have the exact air compressor, haha!First Idaho archery elk. I got a shot at 20 yards. As I was walking up on him, I thought "that has to be a horse with antlers." One of the best days of my hunting life.View attachment 172545
Great memories, thanks for sharing! This past falls bull. Taken at 12000 ft in Colorado wilderness area. Some guy with lamas and a camera crew were camped 50 yards from this spot the day before. He killed his bull opening day and packed out on day 2. This guy came in to drink on day 3. The “lama guy” is the real deal, hiked in a long way. My buddy and I got there on horses and were pretty beat up. Was an honor to share that section of wilderness with him.View attachment 172766

I was very lucky a few years ago to take this bull on public land with a general over the counter tag. I don’t ever expect to be this lucky again.
Congratulations!Unit 24 in Wyoming. Filled the freezer!View attachment 170663

2017 Utah public land archery bull. My first ever archery bull.
Awesome, thanks for sharing! Hope the "draw gods" are good to me next year! The draw gods were shining down on me this year and I drew excellent tags in both AZ and NV. The packing gods were also shining on me as the AZ bull was about a 60 yard packout and NV was maybe 1/3 mile. Pretty tough to beat. Was thankful to have @Schism along for both hunts to help.

Fantastic, an experience they will never forget. Thanks for sharing!Taken on Sunday October 25th, 2020 in Montana. Dad and his two sons. Dad gets credit for the 5x5 and the young son tags the 343" bull. They're all whooped after 8 hours of hauling out the meat, thus the lack of smiles.

I did not get as much meat as I would have liked. Quarters, tenderloins, and back straps. I would have liked to get more rib and neck meat and some of the liver, heart etc. But it was hot with a decent pack out and i wanted to get things on ice. Quite a bit of bloodshot around the shoulders.Sweet & congratulation, lots of 1st for sure! I’m not ready for solo yet,My best friend and I are heading out on our first elk hunt, cow in NM. Can I ask how much meat off her and is she processed yet? We’re wondering how many & what size coolers we need. Thanks!
NiceMy dads elk from few years ago. Had to scan the pic.
Awesome! Congrats!A week and a half out from elk season here in Montana has me thinking on last year. This was my first elk, and I was lucky enough to get it solo with my bow. October 10th was pretty warm last year, so I decided to sit water during the mid-day and this guy came in with two cows and a calf. After a few minutes of walking around and drinking, he stood at 32 yards and I shot him, but hit a little far back. I heard him crash after 5-10 minutes, but wasn’t sure at the time so I waited an hour before blood trailing. He made it about 100 yards or so, luckily he was quartering a bit at the shot and hit lung on the off side (you can see the exit wound on the one picture. Sevr broadheads get the thumbs up from me). I sure was thankful for my two buddies that drove down to help me pack. I just finished the last chunk of backstrap and the freezer is empty. About time to fill it back up!View attachment 192316View attachment 192316View attachment 192317View attachment 192318
