2016 Wasatch Utah late elk hunt. Sixth day, three miles in from the road with an elevation change of around 2500 feet. One of my favorite hunts ever, but it's true that sometimes the punishment for elk hunting is elk hunting.

This was my first elk, 1973, I was 12 and shot him with a .300 Savage, with peep sights. I thought all elk had big racks. Bitterroot Valley!
