This archery bull has a little bit of a story to go with it. He was taken on what I call 2 shot ridge. Tjones and I have hunted this country for decades. On this particular ridge we have taken 2 bull elk, both shot by both of us. Tjones was draining his unit and I decided to call a few more times. It was late in the morning, hot and dry, and we had struck out on any rutting activity. I had called off and on as we hiked back up 2 shot. So I bugled and right below me a loud and excitable bugle answered back, within seconds the bull was moving past me in good range, as he walked by, I drew back and sent one through him. Tjones ( I think with his joey still out) nocked an arrow and got ready. After I shot, I hit the cow call, and the bull acted like a hound dog moving around sniffing the ground. His tracking efforts took him right to Tjones and he sent another arrow through the bull. This is #2 on 2 shot ridge.
