My 2016 Oregon public land Cascade Roosevelt, my biggest bull to date. This was the largest bodied elk I've ever seen in person. He came in screaming and I shot him at 15 yards.
Three bulls first four days of Montana rifle season, 6 pt taken by 17 yo, 6x4 with weird brow tine coming straight out like a unicorn by first time elk hunter 12 y.o., another little 5 pt by older hunter, lots of bugling still going on, even fighting!
Shot this bull on September 8th in northeast Oregon. I was in a treestand over a wallow when he came in at 5pm...the shot was 8-9 yards and he went 30 yards, stopped, and fell over. Second bull in 3 years at this wallow.
my first bull. stalked a group of elk for about 2 miles, played the wind right and used every bit of elk hunting Knowledge that my grandfather has passed on to me over the years. i took a 300 yard shot with my 7mm rem mag loadedwith 160 grain partition the bull didn't go but a yard. everything about the hunt was perfect. hes no monster but i dont think i could be any prouder
Montana Unit 410, awesome hunt saw so many bull elk that it was more like a shopping trip for a bull. Great unit, beautiful country, lots of people and this year almost too warm to feel good when I had him down.
